List of Unsupported Files

Some Connectors have a list of file names and types they will not accept as uploads and some Connectors will not allow certain files to be downloaded.

We skip these unsupported files automatically in a transfer and do not consider them failures. Therefore, a transfer that ran correctly, but did not transfer any of these unsupported files, will be considered a success.

For your reference, here's a list of unsupported file and filetypes that we can't download or upload from our various Connectors that will be marked as skipped in the transfer logs:

Amazon S3

  • No restrictions.

Box

  • No restrictions.

Dropbox & Dropbox Business

  • Dropbox does not allow files with the following names to be uploaded:
    • _.ds_store_
    • _thumbs.db_
    • _desktop.ini_
    • _icon\r_
    • _.dropbox_
    • _.dropbox.attr_
  • Dropbox doesn't allow any files that start with the following characters:
    • ~$
    • .~
  • Dropbox doesn't allow files that start with ~ and end with .tmp.

Egnyte

  • Egnyte rejects files with a size of 0, we will mark the file as skipped.
  • Egnyte rejects files with the following names:
    • _.ds_store_
    • _thumbs.db_
    • _desktop.ini_
    • _HELP_DECRYPT.URL_
    • _.metadata_never_index_
    • _icon\r_
  • Egnyte rejects files that start with the following characters:
    • ~
    • ~$
    • .~
    • ._
    • .dwl
    • .dwl2
  • Egnyte rejects files that end with the following characters:
    • .tmp
    • ._attribs_
    • ._rights_
    • ._egn_
    • .dwl
    • .dwl1
    • .dwl2
    • .ac$
    • .sv$
    • _egnmeta
    • -spotlight

FTP & SFTP

  • We will not upload or download files named .ftpquota to or from FTP and SFTP servers.

Google Cloud Storage

  • No restrictions.

Google Drive & Google Drive for Work

  • Google does not support exporting Forms created with Google Docs.

MySQL

  • We will not transfer the _information_schema_ table. It's a table of metadata used by the server and is not needed for a complete backup. It is also generally inaccessible.

OneDrive & OneDrive for Business

  • OneDrive rejects files with a size of 0, we will mark the file as skipped.
  • OneDrive for Business rejects the following characters in file or folder names:

Put.io

  • No restrictions.

Rackspace

  • No restrictions.

SharePoint 2010

  • No restrictions.

WebDAV

  • No restrictions.
